ईश्वर और चेतना (God and Consciousness)

आज मन में एक प्रश्न आया - ईश्वर क्या है? उत्तर में हमारे ग्रंथों की बातें याद आयी - ईश्वर अविनाशी, अनंत और अनादि है। भगवत् गीता में श्री कृष्ण कहते हैं कि उनमें ही लाखों करोड़ों ब्रह्माण्ड हैं और वो ही हर कण में हैं। भक्ति योग की दृष्टि से देखें तो कृष्ण, राम, शिव, पार्वती, दुर्गा, शक्ति ये सब भगवन हैं लेकिन हम सब जानते हैं कि ये सब भगवान के अवतार हैं और ईश्वर एक हैं। तो प्रश्न फिर से रह जाता है कि ईश्वर क्या है? क्या है जो अनादि, अनंत, अविनाशी है? क्या है जो इतने रूप धरता है? ज्ञान योग तो यहाँ तक कहता है कि हम सब ईश्वर का ही रूप हैं। तो क्या है ईश्वर?

(Today a question came to me - what is God? In answer, I remembered what our sacred scripts tell us - God is indestructible, endless, and timeless. In Bhagwat Geeta, Shree Krishan says that innumerable universes are within Him and He is within all particles. According to Bhakti yoga Krishan, Raam, Shiv, Parvati, Durga, and Shakti, all are God but we know that these are the different forms of God and God is one. Then what is God? What is it that is indestructible, endless, and timeless? What is it that can take these many forms? Gyan yoga says that we all are God. Then what is God?)

 

मन में ऐसे प्रश्न उठने का कारण शायद विज्ञान है जो हर चीज को ठोक बजाकर ही स्वीकार करना सिखाता है और इसमें कोई बुराई भी नहीं है। चलो तो विज्ञान की ही कुछ बातों को देखते हैं और समझते हैं। परमाणु के विषय में तो हम सब जानते ही हैं। परमाणु इलेक्ट्रान, प्रोटोन और न्यूट्रॉन से बना होता है। अब यहाँ जो रोचक बात है वह ये है कि अगर एक परमाणु को फुटबॉल के मैदान जितना बड़ा माना जाये तो उसके इलेक्ट्रान, प्रोटोन और न्यूट्रॉन मिलकर एक फुटबॉल के जितने ही भाग के होंगे। अर्थात ९९% से भी ज्यादा परमाणु खली होता है या दूसरे शब्दों में शून्य ही होता है और आज भी वैज्ञानिक इस शून्य में नई नई खोज कर रहे हैं।

(Reason for such curiosity is the science that teaches us to accept anything after proper analysis; nothing is wrong with this approach. Let's understand a few concepts of science. We all know the science of atoms. Atom is made of electrons, protons, and neutrons. The interesting fact here is that if an atom is considered equivalent to a football field, its electrons, protons, and neutrons can be compacted into a football. That means 99% of the atom is empty and even today science is making new discoveries in this emptiness.)

 

अब इस व्याख्या को सामान्य विषय में देखते हैं। मान लें कि एक कमरा है और वो पूरा सामान से ऐसे भरा है कि अब उसमें एक बून्द पानी भी नहीं आ सकता। अगर हम फिर से परमाणु के स्तर पे जाएँ तो परमाणु तो ९९% शून्य है तो कमरा कितना ही क्यों न भरा हो फिर भी वह ९९% से ज्यादा शून्य ही तो हुआ।

(Now let's see the same concept in a general scenario. Let's consider a room and fill that room in such a way that now even a drop of water cannot be added more to the room. If we again go back to the atomic level then an atom is 99% empty, which means no matter how much the room is filled it will always be more than 99% empty.)

 

तो हम कह सकते हैं कि ये शून्य ही सब में है, सबसे ज्यादा है और क्योंकि ये खालीपन है तो ये अदृश्य भी है और हमारे अनुभव में भी नहीं है। और ये पूरा ब्रम्हांड भी तो महान अनंत शून्य में ही तो है। तो ये शून्य अनंत है, अनादि है और अविनाशी भी है। ये रहस्यमयी अनंत शून्य ही तो हर कण में, हर व्यक्ति में है और सब कुछ इसी में है। इसी शून्य से सब निकलता है और इसी में सब समाहित हो जाता है। शून्य और अनंत जो एक दूसरे के पूरक लगते हैं, एक दूसरे के साथ बहुत ही सहज रूप से विद्यमान हैं। ऐसा लगता है की ईश्वर और अनंत शून्य में समानता है, शायद इनमें कोई सम्बन्ध भी हो। यह शून्य तो विज्ञान के लिए भी एक पहेली बना हुआ है। जैसे जैसे हम इस शून्य को समझेंगे, सामान्य जन ईश्वर को समझने और अनुभव करने के निकट पहुँचेंगे।

(So we can say that emptiness is in everything, the most and obviously, it's invisible also and thus it's not in our experience. And this entire universe is in great emptiness itself. Thus this emptiness is endless, timeless, and indestructible also. This mysterious emptiness is in every particle, every human, and everything is in it. Everything emerges from this emptiness and goes back to it. Emptiness and endlessness seem to be the opposite of each other but they exist together quite seamlessly. It seems like there is something common between God and endless emptiness, maybe they have some relation. This emptiness is a riddle for even science. As we continue to understand this emptiness, common people will get closer to knowing and experiencing God.)

 

अंत में एक और विचार है चेतना के विषय में। आज तक हमारे जितने ऋषि, मुनि और भक्तों ने ईश्वर का अनुभव किया है, वो उन्होंने अपनी चेतना में किया है। किसी के भी बाहरी रूप में कोई बदलाव नहीं आये थे, सभी बदलाव आंतरिक और चेतना के स्तर पर थे। ये अनुभव उन्हें योग, ध्यान और भक्ति के माध्यम से हुए और ये सभी हमारी चेतना को ही तो बदलते हैं। अर्थात हमारी चेतना अगर एक विशेष प्रकार से स्थिर और केंद्रित होगी तो हमें ईश्वर का अनुभव हो सकता है।

(In the end, there is one more thought about the subject of consciousness. Any rishi, monk, or devotee who has experienced God has experienced in their consciousness. None of them changed at the external level rather all the changes were at the inner or consciousness level. Their experiences happened due to yoga, meditation, or devotion and all of these bring changes in the consciousness. That means if our consciousness is steady and focused in a particular way then we can also experience God.)

 

अब अगर ईश्वर और शून्य में कोई सम्बन्ध संभव है तो ईश्वर के अनुभव के कारण, चेतना और शून्य में भी कोई सम्बन्ध संभव हो सकता है। और फिर अगर ईश्वर एक है, शून्य भी एक है तो फिर सभी की चेतना भी एक ही हो सकती है। अर्थात जैसे ईश्वर एक है परन्तु वो हर मनुष्य, जीव-जंतु में भिन्न-भिन्न रूपों से प्रकट हैं वैसे ही चेतना भी एक ही है बस वह हर मनुष्य, जीव-जंतु में भिन्न-भिन्न स्तर की जागरूकता पर प्रकट है। उदाहरणार्थ - ऋषि, मुनि और भक्तों की चेतना उच्चा स्तर की जागरूकता  पर है और इसीलिए वे ईश्वर को समझ पाते हैं और अनुभव कर पते हैं, बाकि मनुष्यों की चेतना कुछ कम स्तर की जागरूकता पर प्रकट है और जीव-जंतुओं की और कम स्तर पर प्रकट है परन्तु सभी की चेतना है एक ही। इसीलिए हर जीव में क्षमता है कि वो अपनी चेतना को ऊंचे स्तर की जागरूकता की ओर विकसित करे और इतना स्थिर और केंद्रित करे कि अनंत शून्य, सर्वभूत  ईश्वर और चेतना के रहस्य को समझ सके और स्वतः अनुभव भी कर सके।

(Now if a relation between God and emptiness is possible then a relation between the reason of experience of God i.e., consciousness and emptiness is also possible. And if God is one, emptiness is one then everybody's consciousness can also be one. It means that the way God is one but is present in various forms in humans, and every other life, in a similar way consciousness is also one and is present at various levels of awareness in humans and every other life. For example - rishi, monks, and devotees' consciousness is at the highest level of awareness and thus they can understand and experience God, others’ consciousness is at a lower level of awareness and of other forms of life it's at an even lower level, but the consciousness of all beings is just one. That's why all beings have the capability to develop their consciousness to a higher level of awareness and make it so steady and focused that they can understand and experience the mystery of endless emptiness, omnipresent God, and consciousness.
